Douce-Hydro SAS, world leader in the design and manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders announced on July 16th, 2008 the acquisition of the company Jarret Structures, specialized in the design and manufacturing of devices intended for seismic protection by viscous shock absorbers. This acquisition comes to reinforce the position of leadership of the 2 companies in markets with strong demand and will make it possible to offer a larger range of products with new technical and complementary solutions, to count on an increased development team and to have a greater presence at an international scale.
Jarret Structures is specialized in the design and manufacture of products which provide shock protection to buildings, bridges and other structures. The fundamental technology of its products is based primarily on the compression of highly viscous elastomeric fluids, a technology that is under continuous development, and that has been successfully applied for more than forty years.

Sales orders for 2007 increased 75 % to $46 million from $30 million in 2006. This places 2007 as the highest in company history.
Due to this high orders increase, Douce Hydro is presently launching an investment plan of US$ 18 million. This investment plan includes 2 new production facilities, 1 new main office, state of the arts new machining tools, and set up of a new Laser Weld Overlay process (Keradouce® Generation 3) dedicated for the coating on piston rods for very harsh environment to answer the OFFSHORE Industry needs.
This investment will enable Douce Hydro to maintain its high level of quality, optimize production resources, reduce cycle time and lead time for all of its world wide customers.
